Standard Threshold
A standard PVCu threshold provides maximum weather resistance and is the only really viable option in an exposed location. A PVCu standard threshold stands 125mm from the floor, which is a little higher than on the aluminium door. Despite this, the PVCu bifolding door provides far greater flexibility for access than do the alternative types of patio door on the market.
Low Threshold
Where wheelchair access or disability requirements need to be accommodated, or perhaps where children may frequently run in and out of a room, a low threshold can be hugely beneficial. It can also assist organisations to meet current legislation for accessibility.
It is important to be sure that materials used for flooring inside a low threshold are weatherproof. It is rare that any water ingres takes place, particularly if advice is sort to minimise such, but we cannot accept responsibility for subsequent damage, so please consult us at any stage should you have any doubts.
