The Material - PVCu

Cost Effective

PVCu does not rot, needs little attention and is highly cost effective.  Research shows that cost savings are up to 50% on a PVCu bifold door compared to timber and aluminium, and according to the Building Research Establishment, a typical PVCu door will have a lifespan of 35 years.

A Unique System

Our PVCu bifolding door is the only PVCu system that we know of which was specifically designed to operate as a bifolding door.  Our PVCu products are:

Slim and Elegant

The material's versatility means that we can build PVCu products with slim, elegant profiles to prevent unsightly door stacks and to minimise interruption of sight-line.

Thermal Quality

PVCu has advanced thermal qualities and is at the forefront of energy efficiency.  Our products are supplied complete with modern weatherseals and optimum glazing standards.  They compete effectively in the market and match excellent thermal ratings.

Environmental Aspects

Claims that the PVCu industry has a record of low recycled waste rate has been refuted by scientists, including the eminent scientist, David Attenborough.  He points out that the reason it has low recycling rates is because it lasts for so long that most of it is still in use!  Once the products are obsolete, virtually all PVCu is recyclable, much of it returning to make more PVCu products.

Similarly, although dioxins are produced in PVCu production, the quantities are tiny and a high proportion are captured and not allowed to escape into the environment.  In fact, a PVCu factory would have to operate for 30 years to match one bonfire night in terms of dioxins released into the atmosphere.

We take all possible steps to minimise our impact on the environment and are vigilant to ensure that we make use of any new technologies and techniques to this end.
