Glass

All of our doors are supplied with glass that meets very strict regulations regarding glass safety and thermal standards.

We use Pilkingtons glass or equivalent in all our doors featuring 24mm or 28mm, low emissivity, toughened sealed units.  Laminated glass or other alternatives are available on request if they do not breach guidelines or compromise our high quality standards.

Generally, our PVCu products are installed with Pilkingtons K hard coated glass or equivalent.  In aluminium doors we use soft coated glass.  Both these glass types filter out the sun's harmful rays in Summer, but reduce heat loss in Winter.

Internal Blinds

We are happy to arrange for internal blinds to be fitted by the glazier at extra cost, but it should be noted that these products are fairly recent on the market and therefore do not carry long guarantees.

Self Cleaning Glass

Of reasonably limited usefulness, self cleaning glass can also be added at extra cost.   The idea is that this glass requires no cleaning, but the large panes which are a feature of the bifold door are easy to keep clean in any type of glass.
